Welcome to Pickem Trivia. By accessing or using our website at pickemtrivia.com ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pickem Trivia, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Pickem Trivia is an online trivia game focused on NFL football and fantasy sports. The Service includes:

• Daily trivia challenges
• Head-to-head multiplayer games
• Leaderboards and rankings
• Optional paid features including tokens and subscriptions

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may create an account using Google Sign-In or email/password. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Game Rules

Pickem Trivia games are governed by the following rules:

• All players must answer questions honestly without using external tools or databases during timed gameplay
• Daily challenges reset at midnight Pacific Time and each player may submit one score per day
• Head-to-head matches are binding once accepted; disconnecting forfeits the match
• Leaderboard rankings are updated in real time and reflect legitimate gameplay only
• We reserve the right to void scores, reverse results, or adjust rankings if cheating or exploitation is detected
• Campaign levels must be completed in order; skipping levels is not permitted

5. User Conduct

When using Pickem Trivia, you agree NOT to:

• Use automated scripts, bots, or cheating tools
• Exploit bugs or glitches for unfair advantage
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate rankings
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Use offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate usernames
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage our systems
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without refund.

6. Virtual Currency (Tokens)

Tokens are a virtual currency used within Pickem Trivia:

• Tokens have no real-world monetary value
• Tokens cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred between accounts
• Purchased tokens are non-refundable except as required by law
• We may adjust token prices or rewards at any time
• Unused tokens may expire if your account is terminated

7. Pro Membership and Billing

When you make a purchase:

• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Prices are displayed in USD and include applicable taxes
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled
• You may cancel subscriptions at any time; access continues until the billing period ends
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact support for assistance

8. Intellectual Property

All content on Pickem Trivia, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, game mechanics, and software, is owned by Pickem Trivia or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

NFL team names, logos, and player information are used for informational and entertainment purposes. Pickem Trivia is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Football League or any NFL team.

9. User-Generated Content

By choosing a username or interacting with other users, you grant us permission to display this content within the Service. You retain ownership of any content you create but grant us a license to use it for operating the Service.

10. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services including:

• Google Firebase: For authentication and data storage
• Stripe: For payment processing
• Google AdSense: For displaying advertisements

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Defects will be corrected
• The Service is free of viruses or harmful components
• Game data is 100% accurate (though we strive for accuracy)

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PICKEM TRIVIA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pickem Trivia, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
• Update game rules, scoring, or mechanics
• Change pricing for purchases or subscriptions
• Reset leaderboards or rankings periodically

We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes when possible.

15. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service ends immediately
• Your tokens and subscription benefits are forfeited
• We may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
